A home for the Forest Giants: ex-situ efforts for the conservation of the Endangered Obô Giant Snail Archachatina bicarinata

The project aimed to conserve the Obô giant land snail (Archachatina bicarinata) through ex-situ population maintenance, growth and reproduction studies, disease risk mitigation, and awareness efforts. Achievements included monitoring 21 snails and eggs, rebuilding the facility roof net, and engaging visitors via tours and media features. Despite challenges, it improved infrastructure, raised awareness, and featured in local TV and laying a foundation for sustainable conservation.
