Klaus Groh is a Dipl.-Biol (MSc) who works as a consultant since 1982 in Mid-Europe in the mapping of biotopes, the structure of running waters and the conservation of invertebrates, especially molluscs. Additionally, he ran for 25 years the publishing-house, book-shop and antiquarian “ConchBooks”. He is specialized in his scientific work on the continental molluscs of the Cape Verdes, Canaries and Madeiras and the conservation of freshwater mussels and is a member of the IUCN-SG for molluscs where he was responsible for the fauna of the Canaries in the last two periods. He’s editor-in-chief of the Journals “Conchylia” and “Acta Conchyliorum” and co-editor of the journal “Visaya” and its Supplements.
