This species is endemic to São Miguel island, Azores (Extent of occurrence = 760 km2), where it is widespread and inhabits several habitat types; it faces no major threats, so is considered to be Least Concern (LC).
This species is found on São Miguel island, Azores.
This species is abundant throughout the island in dry environments and in forested areas. The true extent of its range, however, awaits revision of the taxon.
Napaeus vulgaris lives in the drier portions of wooded habitats, where it can be found under logs and amidst clumps of dried vegetation, as well as under heaps of rocks and stone walls.
Due to the wide range of habitats Napaeus vulgaris is found in, no threats are foreseen.
No conservation measures are needed.
