The species has an extremely restricted area of occupancy (8 km2) and is known from only one location. However, there are no major threats at the moment. As it might be sensible to any stochastic event, it is considered as Near Threatened (NT), almost meeting criteria B.
This species is endemic to the eastern parts of the island of La Gomera. This species is recorded from one location and six sites.
The size and trend within the subpopulations are supposed to be stable.
This species lives in the dry temperate shrub vegetation (Piso basal).
There are no threats to this species known.
Parts of the subpopulations are under local conservation schemes.
