The species occurs within La Gomera's protected areas. It has a restricted area of occupancy (AOO is less than 20 km2) and is known from eight locations with 14 sites. However, the population is thought to be stable and there are no identified threats to the species. Therefore it is assessed as Near Threatened (NT), almost meeting criteria B.
This species, described in 2007 by Alonso, M. and Ibanez, M., is endemic to the central and northern parts of La Gomera, between 700 and 1,280 m asl. There are eight known locations with 14 sites. The extent of occurrence is 125 km² and the area of occupancy is thought to be less than 20 km².
The population is stable.
The species is found in Laurisilva forests.
Any threats to this species are unknown.
The species occurs within La Gomera's protected areas. No further conservation actions are required.
