This species is endemic to the island of Tenerife. It is only known from a small area in the northeast of the island. Both the extent of occurrence (EOO) and the area of occupancy (AOO) are 4 km2. The potential threat to this species is the increasing urbanisation of Bajamar, which might seriously affect the very small population of this species. This species is assessed as Vulnerable (VU) D2, because the urbanisation is a possible threat in the future.
