This species is relatively widespread and there is no known major threat. It is therefore considered to be Least Concern (LC).
This species is widespread on Fuerteventura, Lanzarote including the smaller islands in the north.
There are no data on the population size or trend.
This species lives in the dry temperate shrub vegetation (Piso basal).
Potential threats to this species are destruction of the habitat by grazing, urbanisation, and road construction. However the destruction of the entire habitat is not very likely.
Parts of the subpopulations are under local conservation schemes.
