This was listed as Actinella Form III in Waldén (1983), from the island of Madeira. Seddon (2008) noted that the distribution was uncertain, and may lie within the distribution of Actinella fausta. Further research is needed on the taxonomy and distribution before a conservation assessment can be made for this species. Hence the species is listed as Data Deficient (DD).
